Pecan or Walnut Pie WITHOUT Corn Syrup
One of our family favorites is pecan and/or walnut pie. It does not matter which raw nut, it is always a family favorite. We try our best to stay away from anything that has corn syrup in it.
Pecan and/or Walnut Pie
8 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
1/4 cup unbleached flour
2 1/2 cups light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons milk
3 large eggs
2 teaspoons vinegar
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups pecans, whole (or even walnuts)
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Roll out the pastry and place it in a greased 9" pie plate.
Melt the butter and set it aside to cool.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, and salt.
Add the milk and eggs and beat well.
Stir in the vinegar and vanilla
Pour the mixture into the crust and bake for 45 minutes. When the pie is done, the top will be puffed up.
Remove from the oven and cool completely before slicing to your family and friends.
